Hazelnut Chocolate Cake

Hazelnuts are rich in healthy, unsaturated fats and are proven to aid muscle, joint, and digestive health. This recipe combines all the health benefits of these amazing nuts with a classic chocolate cake we all love! Add 2 scoops of Blackbelt Whey Protein Concentrate Choc Fudge, chill well, and serve!

Ingredients:

For the crust:

1 cup cocoa powder

2 x 40-gram scoop Blackbelt Whey Protein Concentrate Choc Fudge

1 cup milk

¾ cup black coffee

2 ½ cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

1 cup butter, melted

1 cup powdered stevia

4 eggs

Chocolate layer:

2 cups melted milk chocolate

1 cup whipping cream

2 scoops protein powder

¼ cup minced hazelnuts

1 cup roasted hazelnuts for topping, optional

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease 3 round cake pans (8-inches) with some melted butter and line with parchment paper. Dust with cocoa powder and set aside.

In a medium-sized bowl, combine cocoa with 1 scoop of protein powder, milk, and coffee. Whisk together until completely incorporated.

In another bowl, combine flour with baking soda and salt. Mix well and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, stevia, and eggs. Beat well on medium speed and add cocoa mixture and flour mixture. Mix again until completely smooth.

Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake each for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool completely.

Meanwhile, combine melted chocolate with whipping cream, minced hazelnuts, and protein powder. Spread the mixture over each crust, creating layers.

Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
